Traditional Hungarian Poppy Seed Roll (Mákos Beigli)

Mákos Beigli is a classic Hungarian pastry made from a rich, tender dough wrapped around a sweet poppy seed filling. It’s especially popular around Christmas and other festive occasions, but it’s delicious enough to enjoy any time of year.

The beautifully browned exterior hides a fragrant, slightly nutty poppy seed filling that pairs perfectly with coffee or tea.
